China is not alone in experiencing major decline in stock market prices. To be fair, 2008 is a year where global stock market crashed.
The US financial crisis manifested itself into a global economical crisis and Chinese economy growth started slowing down. This slowdown in demand contributed to the great pain felt by export oriented Chinese economy.
The China government is adopting measures to increase domestic consumption by pumping $568 billion dollars in infrastructure projects in 2009 and 2010. It remains to be seen how this stimulus plan will move the China economy back to the growth path again in a very challenging global environment.
